About Us

At Toolson Capital, we understand that your portfolio is more than just a number. It represents time and energy invested to secure a financial future for loved ones and family, often including hours sacrificed away from those very people to achieve it. That’s why we take our responsibility to our clients personally, treating each and every portfolio as if it were our own. We will do everything in our power to make sure that you feel like you have a “financial concierge” at your fingertips.

Through our comprehensive and holistic approach, we can assure you that all financial strategies will be evaluated and nothing will be forgotten or left on the table. While each case is designed independently, they are all treated with the same integrity, respect, and detail-oriented forward thinking that is paramount to our client experience. We welcome the opportunity to introduce you to our brand of tailor-made services and individualized attention. This is what we do, and we do it well.

Andy Toolson

Founder & CEO

Andy Toolson first obtained his financial services licensing in 1990. After an 11 year professional basketball career in the NBA and Europe, and 4 years of coaching at the Division 1 level, Andy decided to transition full time into his fascination of financial markets and advisory, and has since worked as a VP/Financial Consultant at Charles Schwab and Company, Key Investment Services, and Cambria Capital, as well as running his own firm since 2013 that is now known as Toolson Capital.

He completed his undergraduate education from Brigham Young University, and has a Master’s degree in Social Science from Syracuse University. He also completed a Master’s in Business Administration from University of Phoenix.

However, he deems his most useful education to be from the “School of Hard Knocks” and now loves using his experience to help the firms’ clients to plan successfully for retirement.

He has been married to his wife Holly for the last 36 years and they love spending time with their 6 children and 9 grandchildren.

Conner Toolson

Partner & Advisor

Conner Toolson is a recently retired basketball player like his dad, Andy. He played college basketball at Salt Lake Community College and Utah Valley University, where he graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After college, he fulfilled his dream of playing professional basketball overseas for two years in Spain and Uruguay. While overseas, Conner became more intrigued in the financial markets and began deeper studies in the financial services industry. After retiring from basketball in 2022, he quickly earned his licensing credentials and began helping clients with their financial goals. He began his career specializing in assisting public employees in Utah and Texas and continues to be a trusted resource for them today. Conner now works with both new and existing clients and values the many friendships he’s built through serving them.

Conner has been married to his wife MaKenna for 9 years and they are proud parents of two sons and one daughter.
